WELCOME
Message from Revd Joe
February has been a busy month for us in Brown Clee Benefice. As we approach Lent, we remember that Lent is a time for us to reflect on where we are but also about where we are heading, so on Saturday 21st February we held a Vision Workshop at The Pavilion in Ditton Priors. This was a time for us to think about how we continue to connect and serve our communities, to share new ideas we could try and pray for places where we see Jesus is at work across our parishes. The Anglican Church is woven into the fabric of our villages and for many is not only an anchor from the past but also a light for the future. The church is seeking to connect with all across our communities and bring that light of hope, friendship and support wherever it is needed. We are pleased to advise that our planning application for a new disabled toilet, water and drainage for St John the Baptist in Ditton Priors was approved in February. Many thanks to all that have supported the application, and we now continue in the process of fundraising. This will make such a difference to the church and village, acting as a springboard for further options for worship, prayer groups and small meetings in church. If any of our readers would like to make a contribution towards the construction costs do please make contact with Revd Joe. Elsewhere across the benefice we have embarked on plans to refurbish the bells at St Giles Chetton, all part of the 200 years celebration for the existing peel of bells in that beautiful church. Finally, we are running a lent course at the the Pavilion in February and March looking at the topic of Generosity in all its forms, not just financial. It runs for 6 weeks starting on 19th February every Thursday at 6pm until 26th March and the Easter week. Everyone is most welcome to any of these evening events – Do dip in and out of them! It is such a joy to be part of this community, and we look forward to sharing with you an update following our Vision Workshop; how you can help or where we can help and support you.

Vision Afternoon - 21st February 2026
Following a lively meeting we have many exciting ideas to share with you - Watch our social media and pewsheets.

Remembrance and New Votive Stand
Many thanks to both Charles Hunter and Joe Steele for fabricating a votive stand for our church in Ditton. Remembrance and reflection are important to all of us, memories become even more sharp at Christmas and at All Souls and the stand provides great comfort and support with a time to sit, think and recall those that we miss.
Heading 1

Funerals
Throughout 2025 we have held a number of funerals across our churches, during this time we have lost a number of people who were heavily involved in the community where they lived and served.
This year we are looking at ways we as the church can provide further help and support, beyond our All Souls service in November, so we will be in touch with you to share our thoughts in due course.
Do please get in touch with Revd Joe or our benefice administrator Emma if you would like a chat or you need support.

Baptisms
It always such a joy and privilege to welcome a new person into the family of Christ and we are thrilled to hold baptisms across our churches each year. Please do let us know how we can support you going forward.
We are looking at a number of options for us to get together as a group and we will be sharing details with all of our baptismal families over the next couple of months.
If you have any thoughts or ideas about activities or opportunities to grow in faith do please
get in touch with Revd Joe or our benefice administrator Emma if you would like a chat or you need any support.

Other Activities
We are really keen to grow our links with the community to show that we are outward facing in our work. Our special focus is on working with children and young families.
It has been fun working with Little Explores in Ditton Priors; we have held a Teddy Bears Picnic and a Pirates and Pumpkins event which was brilliant.
We are looking at a number of new events in 2026 and we will be sharing details in the weeks and months to come.
If you have any thoughts or ideas about things we could do together do please let
Revd Joe or our benefice administrator Emma know so that we can have chat and try and make it happen.
